Toronto independent agency Community has launched a PR division, Public/Realm, headed by industry veteran Lisa Kwong.

The agency, which is now in its 25th year, said that the introduction of Public/Realm turns it into a “one-stop shop” for fully integrated marketing services spanning creative, digital, design, experiential and PR.

In a release, CEO Art Mandalas called it a “natural evolution” of the agency, allowing it “help brands shape not just their narratives, but their presence in the world.”

Kwong, whose career in PR has spanned both small and mid-sized agencies including NKPR, Narrative, and most recently Pomp & Circumstance, said that Community has been quietly building Public/Realm for the past couple of months.

“PR as we know it has been changing by the second. If I look at where it was versus where it is today, it’s all about integration,” she said. “Everything is coming and going at the pace of social media, and we need to find new ways to reach them as PR practitioners. To me, the answer is to find an integrated way of doing it.”
